Status:  Regular Full-Time/Part Time/Casual Time
 
Pay Rate: $8.00 - negotiable
 
Monday-Friday with flexible hours to meet mealtime preparation and clean up responsiblities.
 
This position has potential for growth as the center is growing and there are many new programs to be implimented.  General responsibilites include but are not limited to; meal preparation and serving, dish washing, cleaning and other general kitchen duties.

Job Title: Primary Child Care Teacher APPLY FOR THIS JOB

Supervisor: Director of Little “U” Child Care Center

Status: Regular Full-Time/Part-time/Casual Time

Pay Rate: $9.00-DOE*

Days and hours: Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 6:30pm

Job Summary: This position assists the Director in providing a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate child care to children 4 weeks through 11 yr in a center based child care facility.


Essential Functions:



Developing classroom activities, which reflect the specific culture and ethnic backgrounds of children in care.
Maintain a safe, healthy and positive learning environment, which enhances the developmental learning of infants through school age.
Develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with children in care.
Assist the Director in involving parents in their children’s education and in educational activities to enhance their role as the primary educator of their children.
Advise Director of health and social service issues and educational concerns.
Clean classrooms on a daily basis including but not limited to putting away supplies and sanitizing all toys and surfaces.
Attend staff meetings, and required trainings.
Adhere to all State licensing standards and Little “U” Performance Standards.
Strictly adhere to all childcare center confidentiality requirements.
Abide by company standards of conduct identified under Performance Standards
The incumbent of this position must work well under pressure; meet multiple and conflicting deadlines. The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, director and families of children in care.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.


Specifications:

1. Minimum Qualifications:


Must be 18 years of age or older
18 years of age. Experience working with children 4weeks old through 12years old.
Three (3) references demonstrating positive experience working with children.
Strong understanding and sensitivity to diverse culture and lifestyles.
Complete Infant/Toddler CPR and First Aid training within Ninty (90) days of hire and keep current throughout employment.
Complete “SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome” training with in ninty (90) days of hire and repeat annually.
Continued employment status will be contingent upon employee providing certification of 1-2 hours of training monthly for a total of twenty (20) hours of training yearly.
Continued employment status will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of an initial criminal background investigation and every two (2) years thereafter.
Employment is contingent upon completion of fingerprinting and clearance in a accordance to state regulations within ten (10) business days after hire and a State Trooper’s report before working with children.

*Continued education in Early Childhood Developement or CDA required for Primary Child Care Teacher


2. Supervision Received:

Direct supervision is provided by the Director. Guidelines for operations are based on State requirements and the general policies and procedures of Little U Child Care Center.


3. Physical Demands:

Physical demands for this position should be considered light. There is some lifting required for carrying supplies and lifting infants and toddlers. Staff is expected to routinely interact with children. Communication should regularly occur at their eye level.
Requires cleaning the classroom everyday, including putting supplies in proper place and sanitizing surfaces and toys.


4. Working conditions:

Works in environment where protection of children and families confidentiality is essential.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/classroom environment with periods of outdoor play.
Must be able to hold/carry toddlers and infants 25 – 30 lbs.
Potentially exposed to illnesses common to children.

Pay Rate: $7.89-$9.00 DOE
